OUR STORY

After dancing independently for some time, co-founders Nova, Wati, and Kae found within each other kindred spirits; they all have immense pride for their mother country, Indonesia, and they have a passion for sharing that culture in their home country. Thus Nusantara Budaya was born with the spirit of all Indonesian-Americans in mind.

Members of Nusantara Budaya come from all different Indonesian ethnic backgrounds, religions and ages ranging from 20 to 63 years old. With such diversity, we hope to preserve Indonesia's culture with activities that include cultural performances and participation of Indonesian diaspora in local annual festivals.

VISION

Here at Nusantara Budaya, we are committed to showcasing and representing Indonesia to the best of our ability. Our vision is to introduce Indonesia's rich culture to the local communities and the public in general through traditional dances and songs.

MISSION

Our goal is to provide a safe environment for people who are passionate about Indonesian traditional dances to gather and learn about the dances from different regions and to eventually share the rich culture that is Indonesia with the public through the many venues available, either public or private.
